I am a student, who is enthusiastic and motivated. I was studying Veterinary Medicine in Brazil, and now I am studying the Cert IV to be a Veterinary nurse here in Perth.
When I was a child I already knew I wanted to work with animals, and since then I started taking care of homeless animals. It wasn't easy because homeless animals are a really big issue in South America, there's a lot of them and not enough people to help. My family and I used to take care of as many animals we could and try to find a new home for each animal. I must admit that it was the best part of the process but also the hardest. Back home we have 10 dogs and 5 cats, which are mostly homeless pets that we couldn't find a home and became part of our family.
With 4 years of studying veterinary medicine and doing an internship I acquired even more experience with animals. I've performed basic animal care including walking dogs, cleaning kennels and cages, and administering medications; Assisted veterinarians in exam rooms; Prepped animals for surgery and assisted veterinarians during surgeries and anesthesia procedures; Performed janitorial duties including cleaning of surgery suite, clinic and reception area.
Before I start my Veterinary nursing course and get my certificate, I am not able to do any medical procedures but I am more than happy to take care of your fur babies, always respecting yours and their space and earning their trust and companionship....
