I have throughout my life had experience with a variety of animals such as: dogs mainly, cats, chickens, rats, mice, birds, rabbits and ferrets. In the past I have house sat for people to take care of their pets, ranging from 2 weeks to whenever my services were needed.
The reason why I want to be a pet sitter is because I love animals; I have a deep sense of joy and love for dogs. I personally own two dogs which are English Staffordshire Bullterriers, one who is female, aged 2 and a half and a male who is 6 months old that I rescued recently from the RSPCA. Both of them are my babies!!! They both have amazing, quirky, individual personalities, which brings joy to my life. I'm aiming to start a Cert lll in Dog Behaviour and Training through the National Dog Trainer’s Federation next year.
As an individual I'm a highly personable person with a back ground in community services work. My strengths that I feel are required for most of life situations are: kindness, self-awareness and perseverance which I feel is a highly needed skill when working with animals. Along with my strengths, my personal values are self-expression, accountability, loyalty and integrity. Both my strengths and values help me to better myself on a personal and professional level for growth as a young person. I have a strong sense of empathy which I feel is vital for working with animals in general, also I feel it’s needed when you build your personal relationship with your pet.
