This wonderful mutt called Mumford came into my life four years ago and totally changed it... we became the best of friends! I never would have believed that you could love a pet so much, but Mumford melted my heart.
He belongs to my sister and I wasn't sure at first why she brought a dog and it took me a wile to warm to him, but after spending five weeks in Melbourne looking after a friends two French bulldogs, I went back home with a new found understanding of dogs and I took that back to Mumford. I understood that his over excitement was because he hadn't seen anyone all day, so I let him become my office dog and each day I would go and pick him up and bring him to work.
We'd chat all day, he helped me come up with some of my best ideas and then I'd treat him with a nice long walk on the beach!
The best nights were when he could sleep over and he'd nestle at the bottom of my bed. My sister would never say it but I think she got a little jealous of our relationship, but she loved that he was so loved when she wasn't around. I cried when I said goodbye to him!
Since then I have done a little dog walking with my new friend Pickle who lives in Clovelly, he's not quite as active as Mumford but he is better at fetch! ...
