Dog Lover seeks Happy Home!
I'm more likely to greet a stranger on four legs than two. I'm absolutely comfortable with coming to your home to make sure your pet is well looked after when you're away. Whether it's playing fetch, wrestling in the living room, walking, jogging in the park, or just sitting somewhere comfy for a long petting session. I love playing and will give your pup all of the love and attention he or she needs! You know that person who always wants to say hi to your dog on the street? That's me ... Multiple dogs welcome!
I have grown up with every size of dog possible! I have taken care of many animals in my life and dogs are most definitely among my favorite. During high school I was a dog walker for multiple homes, taking their furry friends to the park, the beach, on hikes, and around the neighborhoods. I also had my own dog walking and pet sitting business in San Francisco, California for a little over a year before moving to Perth. I'm active and athletic and have handled larger dogs, but I'm also gentle and careful with the little ones. From Silky terriers, to border collies, to German shepherds and Great Danes, my comfort level is massive and I rarely get frustrated or impatient. My dogs have been crate trained, house trained, and taught basic skills and tricks such as sit, lay down, stay/wait, shake, speak, jump, etc. I also adopted a deaf cattle dog and named him Echo. I have trained him with a vibration collar and hand signals. He's brilliant.
Why I love pet sitting:
I have always enjoyed working with animals. My goal is to study Earth Sciences/Ecology and Zoology in the future. I have been a lifelong dog lover and became the proud parent of my first personal pup in 2012. She is a lovely cross bred German Shepherd named Lux. Since then, I have been learning as much as possible about how to best care for all animals, especially dogs, how to strengthen my relationship with my own dogs, and how to make the wonderful people who trust me with their pets happy.
What Kate would like to know about your dog:
Some typical questions I will ask at a meet-and-greet are:
-How long have you had your pet?
-How would you describe him/her?
-Does your pet have any medical issues or special care instructions?
-How often does your pet interact with other dogs? Please describe those interactions.
-Do they lunge at other pedestrians during walks, or try to chase after cats, cars, squirrels, etc., or get spooked easily?
-What are your pet's favorite games to play/treats to eat?
-What type of walks would they most enjoy? (trails, beaches, hikes, neighborhood walks, etc)
