Growing up, my siblings were allergic to animals. I had a few rabbits and guinea pigs that were able to be contained to appease my family's health concerns, but not compromise my need for a pet. I also became the neighbourhood go-to for taking care of all the dogs and cats. This was for a quick feed/bathroom break/walk when my neighbours were out for long days, or house and pet sitting for weeks at a time when they were on holiday.
When I grew up and moved out on my own, I finally got my own dog; a golden retriever, Tessie. Tessie and I went through training and became a registered Therapy Dog Team. We volunteered in hospitals, shelters, schools, etc.
The hardest part of my move to Australia from the states was leaving Tessie with my parents. I knew it was the right thing to do though as the travel would have been too hard on her at her old age.
Looking to fill the void of a pet in my life when I moved to Sydney I started dog sitting.
During Covid lockdowns I ended up getting two cavoodles of my own. They’re very friendly and well socialised. We go to the park or beach every day. They each go to daycare one day a week.
I live in a townhouse in Double Bay with a small fully fenced yard.
love taking care of animals. I love to run, if you have an animal with a lot of energy. Whatever your/your pets' needs are, reach out and I'm happy to discuss how I can help. ...
