About Jarnah
Hi, I'm Jarnah, and I am looking forward to becoming your new pet sitter!

I am 25 years old and work in animal welfare. I am a qualified Zoologist and Marine Scientist, and I love animals! If you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and experienced cat minder; I am absolutely the one for you. I offer daily visits to your home to provide care and enrichment to your beloved family members while you are away. I also offer cat boarding services at my home in Padbury, where I can spend more time caring for your cats and can provide additional stimulation and enrichment.

I work at a cat only shelter as a Cat Welfare Officer, Customer Service Officer and Surrender Consultant. I love my job and I love being able to work towards ensuring the welfare of all cats across Perth. I am very experienced in all aspects of cat care, including wound cleaning and administering medication. I have a comprehensive understanding of the physiology and behaviour of cats and am flexible in what you require of me. I am able to tailor my approach in how I care for your beloved felines in order to best suit their individual needs and personality. I will ensure your cats receive plenty of stimulation and enrichment to alleviate boredom, and promise to provide them with the same amount of love that you do. If you have a particularly active breed of cat and need me to provide them with extra stimulation, no problem! I am comfortable in meeting any special needs that your cat may have.

I have two cats of my own, Bagheera and Mowglie, who I adopted from Cat Haven. They are two incredibly spoilt fur babies and I love them with all my heart. They are indoor only cats and rule the house. Bagheera is a one year old tuxedo domestic short hair, and Mowglie is a seven month old massive liquorice raccoon cat. Bagheera loves visitors, and loves the attention of strangers. Bagheera is extremely playful, loves playing chasey, and needs a lot of enrichment. If she is not provided with adequate stimulation her energy builds up quickly, and she becomes very naughty and destructive. She loves Mowglie and is very tolerant of his needy behaviour. Mowglie is less trusting of humans, and is very timid around strangers. He is the absolutely opposite around my partner and I. He follows me everywhere, flops at my feet constantly and loves nothing more than lazing around being petted and fussed over. Mowglie is medium haired and has a thick water proof coat that needs frequent grooming. He has the occasional outburst of crazy playful behaviour when he is playing with Bagheera, but you can generally find him sprawled out on the floor relaxing wherever Bagheera is, or lazing on his cat tree by the sun. If you choose to have your cats board with me, your cats will have a sanctuary room where my cats will be unable to access. If you feel comfortable with the cats being introduced, the introduction process would not begin until after your cat has settled in at my home (a few days minimum depending on how timid your cat is and how your cat is coping without you). If you do not feel comfortable with the cats being introduced, or if your cat is not cat social, no problem. My cats can be confined periodically so that yours can access the rest of the house without the stress of having to interact with other animals.

I have a family cat and dog back in Albany who I also adore. Puss (original name, I know) has ruled the house since 2007. In 2014, my family bought home Meiko, a kelpie/ border collie/ husky/ bull mastiff mix. Puss pretends to despise Meiko, but they sleep together when Puss thinks no one is looking. Their relationship is hilarious to watch.

I have a great appreciation for biodiversity and find the flora and fauna of south west of WA to be unique and incredibly valuable. This appreciation has driven me to be very passionate about responsible cat ownership, and I believe that it is very important to minimise the impact that the cat population has on wildlife. I am a firm believer of sterilising your cats and keeping them indoors at night.

Whether you feel more comfortable having your pets looked after in the familiarity of their own home, or whether you choose to have them board with me, your pets will be looked after to the best of my ability, and loved like they are my own!

Thanks for taking the time to read my profile, I look forward to hearing from you!
