Hi there, I am Jia! I am having working holiday in oz and currently staying at Melbourne. I had pet birds for many years in my home country...budgie, lovebirds and cocktiel. And my neighbor's pet bird store is just at the corner of my home. I used to help him with feeding big parrots, where I could play and meet new birds-lover friends.
I deeply understand how birds owner feel when they are away from home...is there still enough food and water for birds, if the neighbors' pets/kids bothering your birds, whether your birds are anxious or bored. Maybe pet hotel could answer your question, but there is only one thing unavoidable...the noise! The noise from other animals could make birds stressful. The environment change could make birds anxious...they might loose their appetite, have a hard time fall asleep, which impact health condition the most.
I believe that if your birds are as sensitive as mine...then having pet sitter will be your first choice! From the basic food/water check and cleaning to free the birds from cage in room for fly or interacting with birds....these are the thing I am familiar with!
*I could also take care of horse. I used to work at riding club of my home country as a working student in summer holidays when I was in college. Daily care with feeding, mucking, and grooming. Riding is not included....
