Growing up with dogs, my love for dogs began as a small child, when I would more often be found snuggling in bed with the family dog rather than in my own bed! We had many different breeds, including mixed breed rescued dogs, kelpies, terriers and Basenjis. The latter I worked hard to train (those of you familiar with Basenjis will know this is no easy feat!) and later participated in Basenji club show days.
To me, our dogs were a true part of the family and each one will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Since renting in Sydney, I am unable to have a dog (or any pet) of my own. To keep animals close to my heart, I have volunteered at dog rescue centres, including Monika's Doggie Rescue and local animal shelters. It is a dream of mine to be able to adopt a rescue dog.
Each year since it began, my Mum and I attend the best day out there is- the Sydney Dog Lover's Show- with the hope of one day being able to buy some of the amazing products to spoil our very own dog (or, let's be honest here, several dogs!)
In the meantime, I am seeking to have my life more consistently filled with animals, doing what I can to help care for them when their humans are away, sick or just busy with life. I can offer pet-sitting, walking, minding, visiting or socialising. I am happy to arrange a meet and greet with you and your pet prior to any service provision, should that be preferred- having the best fit for your pet is essential. Of course, I am also able to provide a Police Check, Working With Children Check and references.
I work full time as a social worker, with flexibility around my work days and hours, to cater to your needs.
While dogs are my big love, I have also lived with and cared for many other animals- cats, birds, mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, frogs, hermit crabs, and silkworms! My services would extend to these wonderful creatures too, additional or separate from any services provided to dogs.
Thank you :)
