My name is Bethany and I live in Umina Beach. I've been pet sitting since early 2016 and advertised my services via Gumtree and then stumbled upon Mad Paws! I've loved getting to know each and every pet since then and even made some beautiful friends along the way :-)
A little bit about me - I work part time in North Sydney and also study online part time. I work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the office and work from home on Wednesdays and free Friday - Sunday. Smaller dogs are preferred for pet hosting at my place and for overnight stays medium-large dogs the stay is preferred at your house!
My husband Tom, also loves dogs just as much as I do and joins in on the doggy fun. We regularly take dogs for outings to Ettalong Beach and Umina Beach where they are free to run and play. Socialisation with other dogs is very important to me and I try (as long as your dog is willing) to make interaction a big part of their time spent. I don't have any dogs myself which is part of the reason why I love doing what I do! My dogs are my children :-) and I will treat them as such even if it is dressing them up in silly outfits.
I have experience with dog walking and walk small to large dogs (please see photos). Breeds that I have experience with are as follows:-
- Border collie
- Shar pei
- English and American Staffordshire Terrier
- Fox terrier
- Golden retriever
- Mini daschund
- Toy poodle
- French bulldog
- Hungarian Visla
With my dog sitting services I come to you! Prices start from $40 per night. Please note that part of my fee is taken out for the insurance component to Mad Paws (approx. 15%) which also includes administration costs and the marketing of my profile. Prices are also dependent on how many animals need to be looked after and travel times :-) There is no added travel costs if you are located on the Peninsula.
I have successfully completed the Pet Industry Association's First Aid course and have completed training in the areas of: control of bleeding, maintaining airways, performing CPR, recognising vital signs, signs of shock, handling distressed animals, heat stress, various chemical poisonings, tick poisonings, snake bites, trauma, hypothermia, fight wounds, accidental ingestion of drugs/alcohol and do's and don'ts.
For the pet sleepovers, I take with me the St Johns Ambulance Pet First Aid Kit in case of an emergency!
I have been in a few situations where I have administered first aid to a couple of dogs I have looked after and count my blessings that I did my first aid course! Your fur children are in safe hands with me :) check out my reviews
