About Marie

Hi, I’m Marie, animal lover and retired schoolteacher turned artist working from home. I live with my semi-retired husband, David. We love staying home and working on our various projects with the ‘help’ and companionship of any visiting animal friends. I will love and care for your fur baby as if they were mine! Enjoy your holiday worry-free, knowing your best friend is having as much fun as you in their own home environment or visiting their favourite haunts on walks in your neighbourhood.

Along with our four kids we shared our home with many fur family members, but the nest is completely empty now. When the last family cat moved in with our son, we planned to travel before getting another pet. With the arrival of Covid, it looks like travel will have to wait, but we’re missing having furry companions.

Living on a property while raising our family gave me experience with many animals including dogs, cats, rats, mice, birds, ferrets and even horses. I am currently foster mum to a 12-year old girl cat named Theodora, but she is up for adoption and will be going to her fur-ever home soon.

I am comfortable with giving medication (tablet, topical or oral) to dogs and topical medication to cats.

Pet Sitting in your home includes daily walks for dogs, cuddles and grooming for dogs & cats, collecting the mail, basic garden care, watering indoor plants and generally keeping your house looking lived in & cared for.

Walks are 30m - 45 minutes on-lead around the local neighbourhood or park. If your dog has excellent recall, you may request off-lead time at a suitable off-lead park. If the weather is unsuitably hot or cold for walking, I will play and engage with your dog at home.
