I am a mother of two beautiful Boston Terriers, and a full time student (currently on break). I have just moved to Melbourne and was studying Animal Science at Murdoch University before the move. I have decided to take up pet sitting while I have more time available as I adore animals. I only take on one dog at a time unless from the same household, pups that are previously friends or if I can be sure they will get along.
Yuki and Zumi are both friendly and love all people and dogs. However, they can get very overly excited, especially in the first hour of meeting a new dog (they like to do the bow and pounce) which may be a little intimidating for timid dogs. They also don’t understand aggression and warning signs as growling and barking translate to “it’s playtime” to them. My two babies love playing chase, tug-of-war and taking naps in the sun. They are wormed monthly, up to date with their vaccinations, and titer tested.
I am experienced specifically with high energy dogs, brachycephalic dogs, puppies and dogs with allergies and/or sensitive stomachs, but I am comfortable taking on most other pets. Please let me know if your dog is food aggressive so I can watch them at mealtimes. I will not take on dogs who display aggressive guarding behaviors towards toys or people for the safety of both them and my dogs (because toys and people can’t be removed from the situation 😞). We have three boxes of toys and a paddling pool available for playtime! A bit about me: I have had experience at a doggy daycare centre and work experience at a veterinary clinic. I currently work casually at a pet store. Before transitioning to animal science, I studied nursing. Through this, I learned CPR, manual handling and basic first aid. I also have police clearance and my criminal history check. I love photography and have recently started taking photos as much as I can. Some examples of my work can be seen in my gallery. I will do my best to make sure your pup goes home with some adorable photos!
Please note, I can not take on bookings during periods that I have shifts at work with dogs that are not also crate trained; as my two are crated when I leave and it’s not fair on them to be crated with another dog roaming free. It is also safer for all parties involved when not being supervised ☺️
