About Francien
With all the tough but necessary restrictions we all have to adhere to my service has been expanded due to the need for you to know your best friends are loved and cared for by me a granma of 6 and Louis will love having some puppy playtime and naps after a walk around the neighbourhood. Staying away from parks as more and more people are going there to play with their school aged children. It becomes more difficult to keep that distance where young children are concerned and cute punsters are out and about.
I'm a 71year-old female, a retired teacher, non-smoker with 8 years of Pet Sitting experience. I have a companion dog Louis who was born Aug 2018. He is a Griffon Bruxellious weighing only 5 kilos. Louis's very first sit was with 8 dogs ranging from a Teacup to a Rotti.
I enjoy sitting because it gives me a perfect lifestyle where l get to meet so many interesting people, stay in very interesting homes and look after gorgeous pets, farm animals and native species on the endangered list. Traveling overseas is awesome but l also love getting to know parts of Melbourne and country Victoria. Living, shopping, going to different parks and locals cafes is a real treat for me. I literally walk in the owner's shoes.
I have sat in Edmonton Alberta Canada, Vancouver Island BC, Vancouver BC, Toronto, Montreal, California x 2, North Carolina x 5, Georgia x 8, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, NYC, Florida x 3, Colorado, Virginia, Washington State, Chicago x 2, Washington DC, Missouri x 6.
England x 3, Nederland x 2.
I absolutely loved travelling and sitting for long periods spending 11 months in North America in 2015. In 2018 I returned to the States and spent time on the West coast as well as returning for 6 months to sit or be a guest in many mid west and southern States homes/families.
My trip to the UK and Nederland was in 2013 for 4 months.
When you sit in a home be it in the country/beach side or cities you become a resident shopping, walking, visiting art and cultural galleries, zoos, parks and of course Disney parks (8 days in Orlando Florida) and 3 days in Anaheim.
I spent 8 days over Christmas in NYC, no snow! And flew from Vancouver BC on New Year’s Eve 2015/2016 to Melbourne.
So with all my travels and sits I have loved (and since my return mourned many oldies passing or chickens and cats taken by coyotes).
The variety of dog and cat breeds I have had the privilege to care for is astounding. From tea cup yorkie to Great Dane and Irish Wolfhound, Mastiff to mini springers. Ragdolls, Moggies, chickens, ducks, geese, guinea pigs, a tarantula named Rosie (she is 10 now) a 10 yo African Sulcata Tortoise to turtles, gold fish to tropical fish, green tree frogs, golden possums, sugar gliders, alpacas and llama, goats, cows, horses, steers, a pig, Sphinx cats, a snake, geckos, Australian Water dragon (Nederland), guinea fowls and taking care of a variety of newly hatched chicks which one chook sat on for all the other chooks hilarious!
I have on 5 occasions been a companion to 2, 21 plus lads for up to 9 weeks. I actually taught those young men at a Special School. Their parents heard that I was sitting animals so they thought I might look after their son. Both couples had not traveled without their Special Needs lad because it isn’t so easy finding someone who will live in the home with them for a length of time. At this time I was deluded and only charged $10.00 per day one did not pay for the 9 weeks but that couple treated me with respect and I really ‘love’ their now nearly 30 year old son.
So my experience as as a pet mum whilst my children grew up, and as a child I had budgies, canaries, chickens, rabbits, cats, dogs, a calf who grew into a large cow and a short lived lamb we tried to rear unsuccessfully but we certainly did everything and also a turtle. My parents put a stop to me buying a snake then sold by the foot.
I now have Louis a delightful little boy, he is a Griffon Bruxellious I fell in love with his breed because I had cared for Dudley a Rough Red Griff when he was 7 months old, I sat him a further 4 times and I was on a waiting list for years.
Until Covid19 I was homeless and managed to sit back to back virtually here in Australia and of course overseas. A return flight was $1010.00 cheaper then a months rent here in the Eastern Suburbs. I always had a vehicle in the States with the use of the owners Gas Card. Very spoilt and loved.
But not sitting had me find a home for me and Louis only being ousted out after only 2 months because the owner was not able to meet her mortgage payments and had to move into her investment home.
I had a place to go to but the flatmate wouldn’t let me enter the home with all my personal goods in vans and family waiting to set me up in my new home. The flatmate eventually texted and it was all over Red Rover! And now I am searching for a suitable home on my own and a Louis and then I can have your pets stay for play dates or sleep overs.
I look forward to sit again it is in my blood. And I look forward to loving your pet/s too.
Cheers
Francien and Louis V de Griffon
VERY IMPORTANT
I only look after doggies who can be walked and know very important skills such as STOP 🛑, Sit, walk and don’t jump up on me as my legs get torn up and bruised much too easily.
Sorry but owners must take the responsibility for training their pets so that everyone is safe and happy.
If you have a pet which needs training please do so asap or go to an experienced trainer. If they are worth their $$ expenses you and your dog will be so much happier.
A happy dog well trained doggie makes for all social meetings will be perfect 👍🏻.

Brandy was very relaxed and comfortable in Francien's home when we came to pick her up. She enjoyed having Louie for company during the day. I feel very comfortable leaving my dog in Francien's care.
