Hello fellow pet lovers! I'm Sonja, and while I don’t currently own any pets of my own, I’ve spent years caring for a wide variety of animals through both personal experience and Mad Paws. Since joining Mad Paws in June 2024, I’ve walked many a dog, and completed drop-ins for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and even chickens — so I’m comfortable caring for everything from the furry to the feathered to the scaly! Every pet has their own personality and quirks, and I pride myself on staying calm, adaptable, and attentive no matter what comes my way.

By day I’m a secondary science and maths teacher, but outside the classroom I love spending time with animals and being outdoors. My teaching registration in SA requires police clearance and working with children checks, and while separate certificates aren’t issued, I’m happy to provide my Teacher Registration details upon request for peace of mind.

I understand life gets busy, and that’s exactly why these services are so valuable. I’m available most afternoons after work and try to keep my schedule flexible and my calendar up to date so clients always know my availability.

When it comes to pet care, safety and wellbeing always come first. I’m happy to arrange a meet and greet for new clients so both you and your pets feel comfortable. Whether your pet is energetic, anxious, shy, or simply needs a familiar routine maintained while you’re away, I’ll work with you to make the experience as stress-free as possible.

So whether your pup needs a good walk, your chickens need feeding, or your reptiles need a reliable check-in, I’d love to help!
