Hi thanks for visiting my page. My name is Penny and I am a genuine dog lover! 

***🎄Please note for care over Christmas (24 -25 December) I am only accepting a small number of bookings with a minimum of 4 nights with dogs who are compatible with fun loving oodles 🎆 ***

On occasions I have had to travel without my dog and I was so grateful to have a trusted friend to care for my pup, knowing she was safe, loved, and would continue with a familiar routine.

 I have over 25 years of experience caring for dogs. If you need a reliable and professional dog sitter, don't look any further. Your precious fur baby will be loved and cared for like my own sweet girl. I am so happy to provide a niche service for the highest peace of mind for owners who adore their dogs and want only the best, safe, and happy time for their dogs whilst they are away. 

I provide small care, so there will not be a large numbers of dogs, that can be stressful for your dog and mine.  If I have more than one dog in my care I carefully plan my bookings to ensure the dogs are compatible. I specialise in Oodles and small to medium breeds and understand their sensitivities. I provide a comforting daily routine for dogs so they can relax and enjoy their days with me. Many dog sitters don't include walks, but I do this as a standard, as all dogs need daily stimulation, exercise, and engagement in nature. 

 In my home the dogs we care for are treated like family with free access to lounge on the couches or beds and explore and play, inside or out. I have a clear doggy door, but if your dog doesn't know how to use it, that's ok. 

I have owned several dog breeds from large to small (Daschund, Hungarian Sheep dog's (Puli's), Cattle dog/Belgian shepherd, kelpie/foxie, and now a Groodle.  

I have taken them all through obedience school to ensure a lifelong bond and better communication. 

I have experience caring for my extended families dogs which have included the following breeds: Standard Poodle, Maltese, Golden Retriever, Old English Sheepdog, and Lagotto.  

I have volunteered at the Sydney dog shelter, walking dogs awaiting their new forever home, and foster cared dogs from there to ease their stress. I was not very good at foster caring as my standards were a little high for new prospective fur parents - e.g will you let her on your couch, minimum 2 walks a day? 

When your pup/s stay with me they will be part of the family, enjoying cuddles, play, and two walks a day. I provide daily updates to share their day with you. I am open, transparent, and flexible. 

Your dog will have human company throughout their stay with us. One of us is always home and I wfh part of the week. Your pup will be cared for 24/7. 

I pet sit as a hobby as my family and I love caring for dogs, enjoying a variety of breeds, and my girl loves company. 

My fur girl has a pampered life,  enjoying varied adventures in nature. You can see many of our walks and adventures in my profile pictures. 

I look forward to a meet and greet with you and your pup on neutral territory (typically the Hall Showground or Duntroon as it is fully enclosed, & off lead, and not a dog park), and if all goes well, caring for your fur baby. 

Rest assured I will care for yours, as I do mine. There will be always myself or an immediate family member at home. I also have an Advanced first aid and mental first aid certificates. I have tertiary leadership and management, project management, training and assessment qualifications and am fully police checked. I also have a WWVP card. 

Your dog should be fully vaccinated and well for their stay. I am experienced with administering medication. 

* PET HOSTING: 
- 2 walks a full day are included in Pet Hosting. Note to make the morning walk on arrival day, a drop off or pick up by approx 7am is required (weekends are typically more flexible).  

* Drop off and pick up fee is for a reasonable distance from my place. I can do local ones without charge. 

*WALKS: Are for a minimum of 30 minutes and include a pick-up and drop off (dependent on your location). Walks are typically conducted at Hall, Amaroo, ADFA, or  Franklin, and can be off lead in the enclosed oval or on lead through the reserves and other ovals, trails, and parks. Water is regularly provided. Dogs are always secured in the car with a doggy seat belt attached to their harness (for safety, never their collar).  

MEET & GREETS: Are required for first time bookings. Please ensure you complete your dogs profile on Mad Paws including all of the newly added sections, e.g. behaviour, walkies, feeding, home life, medical, etc. Press save at the end. 

At the meet and greet feel free to chat to me about your needs and any particulars about your dog. 


Our Place: We have a fully fenced yard with a grassed area, concrete area, undercover area with a couch, and a raised dog bed under the shade of a tree. Indoors we have couches, several dog beds, and if there is space, even a human bed. During meal times, dogs will be fed separately. I have several raised water bowls and clean/change them several times a day.

* Car travelling: Dogs are always secured in the car with a doggy seat belt attached to their harness (for safety, never their collar).  I also have a doggy booster seat for smaller dogs .


MEALS: Please also chat to me about your dogs meals, treats etc  I am happy to accommodate most meals from simple dry food to other requests (hot meals, fresh bones, adding supplements or medications etc).

* For all bookings, I will arrange a suitable drop off time with you prior to the day. The best way to introduce unfamiliar dogs together is to meet on neutral territory, this avoids any awkward barking when ringing the door bell. So on the day of the booking I will offer a few options to meet on neutral ground at Harrison,  Franklin, Amaroo, Hall, or Duntroon. We then enjoy a walk or play prior to coming home together as a pack. Psychologically, I find this to be the least distressing for guest dogs aswell as Mirra, as the pack mentality means they are naturally more comfortable. I provide my address and pick up is typically from my place.
