Hi all, I’m Keisha, a passionate pet sitter and vet student. I have been around animals my entire life and have been caring for them for as long as I can remember, particularly my family pets: Jessie the Blue Heeler x Rhodesian Ridgeback, Jasmine the Chihuahua x Chow Chow, many cats and tropical fish.
I started pet sitting when I was 17 and since then I have had the pleasure of looking after so many beautiful animals, including dogs of various breed, cats, fish, chickens, geese, rats and even sheep. As a vet student, I have gained experience with many species, including companion animals, horses, sheep, cattle, wildlife and domestic rodents. But perhaps the most important classes have been my lessons surrounding animal behaviour, including hands on experience with animals of various temperaments. These classes have been invaluable as a pet sitter, particularly when working with nervous or anxious pets. Additionally, I have also had experience with administering medications, however, at this stage I am most comfortable with oral and topical medications (though I am happy to discuss administering injections if they are required). As an aid to my education at vet school, I have also done numerous online courses on animal health and care through Holly and Hugo.
Being a vet student has given me valuable skills in animal care and as a pet sitter, I strive to utilise these skills to make sure your pets are happy and very well cared for.
