Hello fellow animal lovers! My name is Vicky and I'm here for those times that you need someone reliable, friendly and experienced to look after your furry friends. I live in Mont Albert and conveniently across the road from my local vet clinic and a large park.
Working with animals has been my life passion. I have studied agricultural science and worked with domestic farm animals, been a volunteer with the RSPCA working in the kennels, cattery, guinea pig and rabbit enclosures and in their adoption centre. I have been a foster carer for kittens/cats and along with having pets my entire life I also worked at Happy Paws Doggy Day Care in Flemington for several years.
I am currently a full time student of animal studies (of course!), I am completing certificates in Dog Psychology, Pet Nutrition and Veterinary Assistance along with Canine Myofunctional Therapy. This is particularly helpful for senior dogs who begin to show signs of arthritis and joint pains.
As a professional and genuine animal lover I always endeavor to create a fun, stimulating and above all safe environment for any pet that comes into my care and I am a strong believer in positive reinforcement.
As part of my pet nutrition course I am also baking my own natural doggy and kitty treats and who better to test taste them than my furry house guests!
Working at Happy Paws gave me a lot of experience with dogs of varying temperaments and how to properly care for fearful and reactive dogs. It is always a little frightening to leave your best friend in someone else's hands and it can be just as overwhelming for your pet. With this is mind I will always try to make things as easy and stress free as possible and encourage you to voice any concerns or questions you may have. I am home most of the day so your furry friend will rarely be alone and they will always be provided with enriching activities during their time with me. I also supply unlimited love, hugs and cuddles :)
Note* I can provide some basic dog training (free) during your doggies stay. I only train with positive reinforcement method.
NOTE* Unfortunately due to the size of the unit, I am unable to accept booking for large dogs to stay.
