We are a couple, both 28 years old. Tegan is studying veterinary medicine, Elizabeth is a nurse in intensive care. We are from Sydney but spent the last six months petsitting through Europe and the USA. We absolutely loved the experience and found it a great way to experience local culture and meet new people. We met some incredible hosts and enjoyed spending time with them before they left for their holidays and now consider many of them friends. We love spending time with animals and exploring new places and cultures. We are not looking for a regular tourist experience, we like to immerse ourselves in the true culture of a country and have found petsitting to be a great way to do this. We enjoy quiet, slow and purposeful living within the local community and genuinely look forward to showering your animals with love and affection. Plus guaranteeing your home is secure and clean to return home to. Tegan grew up on a farm looking after horses, cattle, pigs, chickens, dogs, and cats. We have experience petsitting for horses, dogs, cats, ducks and even a rat!! Our house sitting experiences range from property in extremely isolated rural country side, Bed and Breakfast's, to inner city apartments and houses. We have many years of experience house sitting for friends and colleagues. With our professional backgrounds and University Vet medicine experience and our self-reliant, long term travelling we are used to honouring commitments, made well in advance, and are punctual and reliable as well as flexible in accommodating our home owner's needs.
When we have the opportunity to petsit we greatly enjoy being home, pottering around the garden, exploring the new neighbourhood via dog walks and giving our surrogate furry family members lots of attention, walks and belly rubs. Being invited to look after someone’s home is an important responsibility and we appreciate the opportunity and all the experiences that it brings.
After six months of continuous petsitting we can bring the utmost professionalism and responsibility to care for your house, garden and animals. Being a veterinary student I have veterinary medicine knowledge and experience working in a veterinary hospital. I know animal first aid and how to properly care for and groom animals. We have many years of experience petsitting for friends and colleagues. As long term renters we understand caring for another property like it is our own home, and the importance of house/garden maintenance, problem-solving and responding to unexpected events (we have quickly learnt the art of fence repair during an unexpected storm on a property in rural France)! We have numerous positive airbnb references that we can send through to you. We always leave the house sparkling, washing done, and fresh sheets on the bed.
