I'm a software engineer with a casual schedule (working from home full time) and a very social toy poodle "Louis" who is a year and a half.  Louis and I typically do a morning walk around the neighbourhood and a long walk and play (usually a long fetch session) in a dog park by my home. Plenty of space to run around and play in the home, as well as a small front yard/entry and terrace with real grass potty.
