Some people call me a "dog whisperer" and I do talk dog (and cat but on their terms of course). Animals are my people. (I have also trained horses in the past and owned rabbits, turtles, birds and cats.) Although I love many different animals, dogs are usually drawn to me, including out and about on the streets.
I have over 10 years experience as a professional house sitter and pet sitter in Melbourne and Sunshine Coast, so plenty of references available.
As a lifelong animal lover, I was the kid at school that knew the local RSPCA's phone number by heart and arranged the class school trips from a young age. As an adult I voluntarily trained RSPCA dogs who were up for adoption to increase their chances of finding a home.
I'm an experienced dog trainer in competitive circles in both dog obedience and agility, and have competed (and placed) at national level in New Zealand.
I have also assisted in training classes of 20 people and 20 dogs for local canine training clubs in New Zealand and was at the club 5 days a week and competed around the country every weekend. I also sat on the committee of the Otago Canine Training Club, although most of my dog training jobs currently are more domestic and behavioural in nature.
