We offer a high level of personalised care for your pet from $24 per day (includes drop and pick up days). There are known errors in the MadPaws booking cost calculations, due to this I amend each booking enquiry to reflect the actual rate (the rate may vary according to demand, capacity, and public holidays). Amendments are sent back to you to review prior to confirming the booking. Bookings are NOT confirmed until payment is made to MadPaws.
We reserve the right to cancel unpaid bookings at anytime. Bookings that remain unpaid within 5 days of commencement will be cancelled by default.
We ONLY use the Mad Paws app/platform/website for bookings, payment, updates and all communication. The app is available via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
PICK Up and DROP Off times MUST be nominated / pre-arranged (to avoid your disappointment). I can accommodate early and late arrivals well outside of normal business hours (i.e. I can accommodate 5am to 10pm if needed).
Please note that the service fees do NOT include food for your pet. Adequate quantities of food (including treats) must be provided by the pet owner at time the booking commences. I can and do and prefer to supply bedding, bowls and other basic needs.
I won't hold you or your dog accountable for any property damaged by your pet while at my residence and although all care is taken, I won't be held accountable for any damage to any property that you bring onto my residence (if you don’t want anything lost or broken please don’t bring it along). In terms of property, any insurance excess claim costs will be 100% borne by the client. In the very unlikely event of injury or loss to the pet any insurance excess claim costs will be evenly split between parties (50% each). These are my terms of agreement of the booking so it is clear to avoid any potential disputes.
FOR PET HOSTING SERVICES (Pets at my residence):
Other sitters accept several dogs at any one time, however where possible we only accept one client at a time*. For this reason, I recommend quickly securing your booking by making payment to MadPaws once approved. I cannot reserve unpaid bookings. Bookings are NOT confirmed until payment is made to MadPaws. Meet and Greets are optional and are held at your discretion.
I DON'T allow inspections of my yard or residence during meet and greets or drop off. A dedicated drop off and pick area is designated for these interactions. Due to some privacy concerns created by previous clients I don’t and won’t deviate from that area.
The purpose of a meet and greet is NOT to determine compatibility with my dog or any clients dogs. All animals are separated during meet and greets. I have a system in place for a gradual and safe integration of all pets. Contingency plans are in place if any issues are experienced.
We don’t require evidence of vaccinations (etc) however our super friendly Leroy is fully vaccinated and wormed etc.
Our fence is fully secure, and we have three loving and highly empathetic children (9½ – 12 years old) that love animals and will help to care for them and keep them entertained. It is important that your pet gets along with (or at least tolerates) children. Our children WILL be supervised whilst interacting with your pet. Dangerous dogs will not be accepted.
Our yard is considered small - medium size so there is room to keep them entertained, however we also have direct access to a dog park and we are located within a short walk to the beach (hosted pets will not be let off the lead).
Dogs will most likely get at least a little bit dirty during their stay, depending on a number of environmental variables. Dog washing is not included as part of this service.
An afternoon walk is generally conducted each day for at least ½ an hour pending weather, the fitness level of the pet or other advice provided by the client.
FOR IN HOME SITTING (your residence):
We have a current police check and a system in place to digitally record our visits so that your security is not compromised. Additional services such as putting the bin out and collecting mail can be conducted as part of the service.
All ‘in home’ services are limited to the general Hervey Bay area i.e. Pt Vernon - Urangan - Booral. If you are unsure of coverage feel free to lodge an enquiry for consideration.
INFORMATION FOR NON-HERVEY BAY BASED BOOKINGS:
We are centrally located in the Hervey Bay CBD. Approx 25min drive (20km) to the River Heads Barge (to Fraser Island) and 11 minute (7km) drive to the Urangan Boat Harbour (i,e where whale watching boats depart).
WHY DO WE DO THIS:
We identified a lack of quality, accessible and flexible pet care in the Hervey Bay CBD. We know that having pets can sometimes create problems, especially if you want to take a whale watching day trip or head over to explore Fraser Island (no pets are allowed in a national park). https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/before-you-visit/dogs-and-pets
We can provide a high quality, highly flexible service that operates outside of normal business hours. We can also provide you with an update at your request. For overnight and weekend stays our 9-year-old twin boys will provide more love and attention than your pet could ever need (Note: our children WILL be supervised whilst interacting with your pet).
