I've had a way with animals since I was a child and I've had numerous pets throughout my childhood including one dog, two cats, a rabbit and two budgies. I'd love to get another pet dog but travel overseas too frequently to be able to look after one properly. I spend most of my time studying or writing at home. I keep pets in my study which with an open door to a small fenced in garden. I'll be periodically playing with pets throughout the day as I take breaks from work.
I walk dogs for at least 30 minutes per day, usually from my place to the landcare area at Taroona High School. The route passes by the foreshore giving dogs the opportunity to swim. Longer works can be arranged as long as I have time available to do so. The route for long walks will usually be along the Taroona foreshore ~8km return.
Before a pet hosting or pet sitting booking can be accepted I'll ask for a meet and greet. For pet hosting the meet and greet is at my address so that you can see the environment that your pet will be staying in and I can see the behavior of your pet. I'm unable to accept pets that are poorly behaved during the meet and greet.
You should bring any toys, food, medication, treats, lead and collar (or harness), bed and/or crate (if they have one), an item that smells like the owner (if they have separation anxiety) and a list of any toys that you've brought (so they can be accounted for later)

Services and pricing: Due to limitations of the madpaws website, the prices listed are indicative only. I adjust my pricing based on an return of $25/hr, Madpaws adds roughly 30% or an additional $10 on top of that.
I can manually adjust pricing according to the needs of your pet. If they need additional 30 minutes walking time I can add that into the price. Similarly if they're well behaved and need less time to look after I can offer discounts on subsequent stays. Prices can only be adjusted before a booking is confirmed.

1. Pet Hosting I host your pet at my home. They'll stay in my study where I'll be working on most days. The study has an open door to a fenced off outdoor garden beside the house. I'll be interacting and playing with them as I take breaks throughout the day.

2. Pet sitting. I stay in your home looking after your pet and home.
Cost/day: $52
Price assumes around 60 minutes time commitment to looking after the pet and home, and a 30 minute walk everyday
3. Pet day care. The same as Pet Hosting except only during the day
Max cost/day $43
This price assumes 12+ hr booking and a 30 minute walk.
Min cost/day $17
(shorter booking and no walk)
4. House visiting. The same as Pet day care, except I go to your home
Price: To be estimated, based on needs and travel distance
5. Dog walking.
Cost minimum $17
Adjustments: Additional $17 per half hour of walks or travel time.

As this is a hobby for me, I typically check mad paws messages only on the weekend. I will provide my mobile phone no. so you can contact me during the week once a booking is confirmed.
