About Kathleen
Being brought up on a farm you come to understand nature and animals. Animals have always been a part of my life from the time I was very small. I had baby chicks, calves, puppies, kittens, piglets, ducklings, mice, fox cubs, lambs, anything that had four legs . The ones that would lose their mothers, I would feed them with bottles, drippers, spoons, straws anything that droplets of milk could be administered to them. I would even get down on my hands and knees to show kittens and puppies how to lap milk. If some of them passed away and sadly they did, there was rivers of tears funerals and flowers that followed. I even had some in my room much to my sister's dismay. I would be sad for the orphaned ones, having no mother to love, kiss and cuddle them. So I knew that was my job. But it was great fun and wonderful wonderful memories. I love them all and all their different personalities, funny little habits and how clever they are. I love their company, I love when I go to sit down they come and sit next to me or lay across me or come up to me and look me in the eye and I know they are saying to themselves She will give in and cuddle me, kiss me, rub my belly and chat to me. I am one of those people who talks to dogs and cats if I meet them on the street. I am an animal lover and I don't make any apologies for it. I have been farm sitting now since February and looking after 3 dogs and 50 head of cattle which were calving, plus 2 goats 4 sheep and a beautiful funny pig. When I lived in Ireland I would look after friends cats and dogs as I think kennels are so unfriendly, cold and lonely for an animals that is use to being in a home all snuggly and loved 24 /7. Personally I don't think its right to abandon them to these places. I had to leave my 2 pet dogs at home as it's so expensive to bring them to Australia. I was so heartbroken and still very sad that they are not with me But lucky for me my son and his girlfriend have them and they adore them. I speak to Pippa and Lottie my 2 dogs on skype every week I send them little gifts and little cards I do ring them to say hi and blow them kisses down the phone. My son thinks Im nuts and wasn't to impressed when I told him I missed the dogs more than I missed him. But I am saving at the moment to get them here, it will take a bit of time but I will get there. I will travel if you would like me to look after your pet or pets I don't mind. I can supply references from here in Australia and also from Ireland if you wanted to hire me to love and care for your beautiful pet / pets. Thank you for reading my story. Kathleen...
