I am originally from Europe and used to have many different kinds of animals (including but not limited to: cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, fish, turtles, snails, frogs, salamanders, skinks, hamsters, squirrels, hedgehogs and weasels) either as pets, as a sitter or as a short-term carer for their rehabilitation. I used to volunteer at a veterinary practice during summer holidays.
I also used to do farmstays and am familiar with the care and routine maintenance of most farm animals.
I have lived in Africa for three years and have travelled extensively. I have a university degree in the field of biology and my tertiary studies included animal behaviour subjects as well.
I currently live in a townhouse with my two children and two cats where we have a fully fenced yard and a large park in the back. My daughter is 10 and my son is five years old and they are both very gentle with all animals. My cats are very relaxed, affectionate and talkative. 😁
Due to the size of our house we would only be able to host small to medium seized animals. Sorry, no large or giant dogs.
The house is clean & tidy and the yard is dirt & mess free.
Perfect for your closest companion to have a wonderful little holiday with us!
We are also available for home visits in your own home and we have a very flexible schedule.
Visiting dogs have the choice of staying outside or inside at night.
Cats can only be kept indoors the full time of their stay.
We can feed, brush, train, give medication, walk - take to an appointment or to the beach! 😎
1) Your dog / cat needs to have up-to-date anti-flea and worm treatment.
2) You need to supply the food for your pet for the whole duration of their stay.
3) You need to supply the medication to be administered for the whole duration of your pet’s stay.
4) Does the pet have any pre-existing medical conditions / injuries / behavioural issues?
5) For cats you need to supply the litter boxes (one box per cat) and the litter for the whole duration of their stay.
Pet sitting: $30 per pet per night
House visiting: $20 per visit
Dog walking: $20 per walk (at least an hour each walk)
Dog training: $50 per session (at least an hour each session)
”Puppy surcharge” of $50 applies for dogs under 12 months old.
“Pet day care” means no overnight stay.
Drop off time can be early morning (pre 8am) or late afternoon (past 6pm) on the day of the first night of stay.
Pick up time (on the day after the final night of the stay) can be early morning (pre 8am) or late afternoon (past 6pm).
Surcharge of $10 applies for drop off / pick up times before 7am and after 8pm.
Your pet must be collected by 9am otherwise a $20 (per pet) surcharge applies. Reason for this is that the standard Mad Paws hosting rate is 'per night' and technically the hosting finishes in the morning. (I can discuss this with you in detail if there is any further explanation needed).
Please also be mindful that we are a super busy family and on weekdays your visiting pet will have periods throughout the day without us there.
If you want us to stay with your pet all day - we can do it, but we'll need to talk about the daily $ rate before committing to a booking.
If you want the best care for your best friend, look no further!
Thank you for your consideration. 😊...
