I am an animal lover from way back. I grew up with lots of different pets but only got my first dog as an adult. I worked as a professional pet sitter while I was at uni and visited, walked and cared for lots of amazing animals. Lots of dogs and cats, a few guinea pigs and rabbits, chickens, birds and fish!
These days I mostly care for animals in my home, like Air BnB for pets. I also offer 30 minute pet-sitting visits to the pet in its own home, where I provide food and water, play time, home security, mail collection, bins to kerb etc.
When staying at our home, pets join in our family and sleep, eat and live inside with my husband and I and our Maltese x Bichon, Ruby, who is 10 years old. They also have access via doggy door to a small but secure backyard with 6ft fencing and a locked side gate.
Our home is best setup to accommodate small breed dogs up to 10kg max. Our little Ruby (who is only 4.8kg) is getting older and is not up to too much playing or boisterous behaviour these days, so we cannot take puppies or dogs who are very active and boisterous. We love senior dogs, they have become almost a specialty of ours, we can look after special diets, medications etc that come with being in the twilight years.
We live in Victoria Point near dog beaches and in addition to daily walks, dogs who enjoy the beach can come swimming too (in warm weather).
