About Jo
Currently only available for house-sits 14 days or longer, thank you.

Are you in need of a house sitter for your beloved furry, feathery or scaly family member?

I am a mature (in my late 30s), young at heart, agency registered female house-sitter, offering house sitting services to supplement my current house-sitting assignments.

I am greatly missing my beloved (recently departed) 4 legged son, am not ready to love again on my own yet and am currently in a position to help in the community with house sitting. As a previous pet owner myself, I have experienced first hand the difficulties of holidays/work trips/emergencies when owning a pet that has challenges with being boarded. The help I had from others coming to stay at my house over the years was invaluable, and I would now like the opportunity to do for others what has been done for me.

I chose to be a house sitter now, as I have recently returned to Perth and am taking a break from work. Therefore am available to not just be there over night, but a lot throughout the day with them as well (which is good for the separation anxious or special needs!). I am an absolute animal lover of all creatures, and would enjoy nothing more than to get to know your little (or not so little) one's quirks, and comfort them with fun and attention during your absence.

A little about me. I am quiet, house proud, non-smoking, responsible and trustworthy. I meditate for entertainment, socialise with books/docos/animals and occasionally will do acoustic vocal performances for your pets (if they request it hehe). I come from a business/finance background so am very fastidious with a keen eye for details and excellent organisational skills, Australian (for your peace of mind) and volunteered for a year in a Vet clinic. I am able to provide a reference from my house-sitting agency, testimonials from past clients and a national police clearance. I am house sitting on my own, so what that means for you is less expenses in utilities than a house sitting couple/family (and less risk of breakage/damage from kiddies). I also being a quiet homebody you can relax knowing your house sitter isnt using your house as a venue for lots of guests or to hold house parties. I am an agency registered house sitter, so you can rest assured your home and loved ones are in the hands of someone who understands how to treat it with the same respect as their own. I am experienced in handling a variety of animals and am adept at learning new skills for the ones I am not. I am accustomed to regular walks, feeding routines, administering medicines (even to the problem kids), and keeping animals loved up and played with. If your little one is used to being on the couch, in the bed and sharing the bathroom...their house, their rules. If you prefer a stricter environment of no couch, no inside etc, your house, your rules. Just let me how you want things done and I will follow it to the last dot point :-)

As for my needs, I am very low maintenance. All I need is access to is WIFI facilities, suitable clean accommodation and access to public transport (as I do not currently have a vehicle). Due to this, please understand that sits that can offer insured vehicle use will be given booking priority and I have a full manual license. I will provide detailed forms to cover all information such as your travel plans, pet and home routines and all of the finer points to ensure my stay with your pets is anxiety and stress free for all. These forms will be required to be filled out to secure the booking. Home owners will need to be able provide local emergency contacts that will be available during sit duration (and financially equipped to pay for any unforeseen circumstances), Vet contact details (with an account established for emergencies) and pet insurances. Lastly I do have some limitations due to transportation and physical fitness to be able to accommodate very active pets. So if your loved one is high energy and requires a lot of daily physical activity from their sitter...I unfortunately may not be the best option for you. Please understand as a non-smoker I will not house-sit for clients that smoke inside the house, for clients who do not offer a clean, tidy home/yard and are not located in a safe area with easy access to public transport/insured vehicle. Photos if the inside/outside of the property will be request prior to a visit/booking confirmation to gauge this. I will not accept sits with any aggressive animals. Also please keep in mind, that as a full-time house sitter, any last minute cancellations will result in my having no accommodation during this booked period. So I do ask homeowners to be mindful of this when engaging myself to sit**

Feel free to make contact with any queries or to check my availability, and please be aware that due to the complications of accepting back to back house-sits, that committing to a house-sit far in advance may not be possible.

If you are interested in initiating contact to organise a sit, please include;
-dates of sit (and basic details of your travel plans etc)
-street/suburb location (to view public transport routes and services etc)
-photos of your your pets/inside/outside of property (to confirm mutual suitability)
-a brief description of yourselves, your loved ones and their needs
-a confirmation that my needs are capable of being met and any other information you see as relevant.

I will endeavor to return contact within 24-48 hours as I understand how important arranging a sitter can be in relation to travel plans and your peace of mind. I do suggest initially that a phone call/video call is an excellent way for you to initially determine if I am the sitter for you, followed by a familiarization visit if you are located in Perth Metro area*.

Thank you for your patience in reading, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind Regards,
Jo

*Home owners outside of CBD metro/rural/interstate home owners must be willing to cover transportation costs for house sit assignments, and must provide access to an insured vehicle when not within reasonable access to CBD for duration of sit unless otherwise agreed.
**a Housesitting manual outlining all details of the sit including statutory declaration waiving sitter liability, confirmation of insurances/emergency contacts and commitment to dates will be required to be signed/returned prior to confirmation of booking sit. I will not be able to confirm myself as booked to pthe prospective home owners without this. It will include an agreement of providing costs of suitable alternative accommodation should a confirmed sit be cancelled within short notice of sit commencement date.
