My name is Jess, I am 28yrs old and have completed my cert 2 in Animal studies and am currently completing my cert 4 in dog behaviour and training.

I also work as an animal attendant in an animal shelter so you could say I live and breath caring for animals.

I am a big animal lover and a very keen interest in dog behaviour and training using only rewards based methods.

I have a lot of experience particular with Greyhounds, volunteering with a greyhound rescue group for the past 5 or so years and I understand their needs can be a little different from other breeds. I have a big soft spot for long noodle dogs so if you do have one needing care I am there!!

I also have experience handling and caring for large/giant breeds over 40kg owning an Irish wolfhound currently and a Great Dane in the past. So, your big fur kids are in capable hands with me.

I understand some pets may have extra needs such as being reactive, resource guarding or anxiety and that is all ok with me. I am happy to listen to anything you feel your pet needs and do everything I can to keep them feeling safe, comfortable, relaxed and happy while in my care.

As much as dogs are what I have most experience with, I am still happy to help and care for cats or other pets you may have. I do have experience owning or caring for cats, rabbits, guinea-pigs and horses.

Current services I can provide are:
DOG WALKING - Minimum of 30minutes but a longer time can be arranged if needed. Happy to walk multiple dogs from the same home at the same time. If the weather stops us from going for a walk, I will happily substitute it for enrichment games or training inside the home instead if you would like.

HOME VISITS - Minimum of 30minutes stay with your pets but longer stay times can be arranged. Can do multiple checks in the same day if required. I can play, feed, toilet, clean or just hang out with your pets in this time. I am more than happy to discuss any needs you may have.

PET DAY CARE: I will stay with your pets for as long as needed while you are out during the day. I will exercise, play, feed, toilet and clean up after your pets, as well any other homely tasks like watering plants or checking the mail. If there are particular tasks you need done while you are away, I am happy to chat further and arrange these with you.

PET/HOUSE SITTING - I will stay with your pets for as long as needed and can even do full 24hrs if required. If there are particular tasks you need done while you are away, I am happy to chat further and arrange these with you.

I can also offer oral or topical medication administration, basic grooming such as bushing and nail clippings, and training sessions while with your dog. As a dog behaviourist in training, I use only positive reward based methods and am happy to listen to any particular behaviours or tricks you would like your dog to be working on.

Although I am new to Mad Paws, I have done all these services before for family, friends, and people within my rescue group community.
