How does Mad Paws work?
Think of Mad Paws as a matchmaking platform for pets and pet-loving people!
Step-by-step, how Mad Paws works:
1. Tell us what your pet needs
Start by entering your suburb or address, choosing the service you need, selecting your dates and adding your pet. Depending on what you need, this could be overnight Pet Hosting at the Sitter’s home, Pet Sitting in your home, Day Care, House Visiting or Dog Walking.
2. Browse local Pet Sitters
Mad Paws then shows you available Sitters in your area. You can look through their profiles to get a feel for who they are, what they offer, their experience, reviews and ratings. You can also filter and sort your options to help narrow down the search.
3. Find a Sitter who feels right for your pet
This is where the matchmaking happens. Consider your pet’s personality, routine and needs, as well as the sitter’s experience and environment. For example, a social Labrador with a serious commitment to fetch might suit a very different Sitter from a shy senior cat who considers eye contact a personal attack.
4. Chat with your shortlisted Sitters
Once you’ve found a few promising options, send them a message through Mad Paws. It’s a chance to ask questions, explain your pet’s routine and make sure everyone’s expectations line up. We recommends speaking with a handful of Sitters before choosing – this way you can compare them and get a strong feel for who you think will be the best fit.
5. Organise a Meet & Greet
Before booking, arrange a Meet & Greet with your preferred Sitter. This gives you and your pet a chance to meet them, ask any final questions and make sure the arrangement feels right. It’s particularly useful for understanding how your pet and the sitter interact in person.
6. Confirm and pay securely through Mad Paws
Once you and your sitter have agreed on the booking, you can confirm and pay through the platform. Payment finalises the booking, and then unlocks access to the Mad Paws Guarantee and our Customer Support team.
7. Enjoy your time away, with updates along the way!
During the booking, you can receive updates and photos from your Sitter.
