Hello all,
I live in Albert Park with my two good friends (all 26). We have all grown up with dogs but have since moved away from our family homes and family pets. We missed having a dog in our house terribly, so we volunteered to dog sit one of Jack's colleagues border collies whilst there family went away. We were soon reminded of all the joys of having a dog in the house. We also realised what a great dog sitting team we made.
I have since looked after many more dogs, before deciding to join mad paws. I understand that it is hard for any dog to adapt to a new environment and for most dogs it takes at least 2 days to adjust. I try my hardest to bond with the dog for most of the day over these first few days taking them on many walks and playing with them appropriately to establish a bond. I also try to maintain a similar routine that the dog has at home, as this helps the dog settle in and makes for a happy pooch.
I geniunely care for dogs, and do my best to make them happy throughout there entire stay. For energetic dogs that love walking I will walk them usually for a minimum 60 minutes a day up to 90 minutes. This includes at the beach, at the dog park and at albert park. I enjoy walking with the dog, and it helps the bonding process.
With the previous dogs I have looked after, I have washed them when they needed to be washed, done flea treatment for them when I suspected fleas, I have taken them to the owners preferred vet if they need to be taken to the vet, I have taken them for a swim on hot days, I have let them sleep in my room if they are to anxious on there own in the new environment, I have administered them there medication, I have even hand fed a dog who would only eat if hand fed due to the separation anxiety he had. I genuinely care about your pet, and I look after it to a high standard.
I can guarantee you that with me, you will get what you pay for, and that is a high standard of care. Please feel free to ask me any questions.
