Hello hello!
I used to do dog sitting, walking and visiting many moons ago when my husband and I first moved to the coast (2015-2018). Both through gumtree and then mad paws!
I have over 20 years experience with dogs having grown up with them all of my life and a world without them I just can't imagine! Back when I first started dog sitting I completed my pet first aid course (yes, they exist). I am confident with administering medication as I do every day with my disabled rescue pug who we've had for 3 years. Being a pug, she doesn't particularly like long walks, which I am fond of!
I'm understanding of different behaviour in dogs as my pug is not particularly social as she came from a puppy farm and can be reactive with certain breeds. Your dog will always be walked on the lead and in the area in which you feel most comfortable in. I will never approach another dog until consent is received from the owner as it works both ways. I do believe that dogs can be unpredictable and will always exercise caution, even if someone tells me that "their dog is friendly". We can't read our dogs minds so we should always be vigilant and pick up on any signs of anxiety from other dogs and your own.
I'm offering dog walking and visiting for now as I work full time from home so am very flexible if you need your dog walked during the day or need visiting....
