About Ess

Hubby an I are ex South Africans, who now live on Beautiful Bribie Island in our own fully fenced free standing house. I work from home as a Building designer but is in the process of winding my business up and entering the retirment phase of life.

Hubby and I are both crazy animal lover, and for me it has been that way since a small child. If there was an animal around I would need to go say Hi and spend some time interacting with them.

Over the years we have been blessed with amazing pets: both Canine & Feline. Our last Fur Boy , a very loved Cocker Spaniel, passed away on the 4th of October 2023 from Cancer, after we had spend over 4 years fighting the disease with him. The vet could not believe that he lived that long as the prognosis was for 3 - 6mnts.

The time looking after him has equipped me to deal with giving all sorts of medications on a daily basis, things like nose bleeds, and special diets, so I am comfortable having to follow instructions in relation to administering medication and other medical needs.

For us Fur Babies are part of the family, so we would struggle looking after dogs who cant be with the family inside, hence the reason we have selected inside Dog only.

We have no problem with the Dog sleeping on the bed with us either. We will however require the Dog/s to be flea free, fully house trained and passed the chewing household items, stage. We have a Doggy door for small to med size dogs.

I am very active and go for a walk every morning, so if they are good on a lead and social, I will happily take them for a walk. We also visit our local beach, which is off lead Dog friendly, most Saturdays for a long walk and swim, so again if the pup is good with other Dogs, and being off lead, we would be happy to take them to the beach with us if we go....
