Welcome to Story Stayz!
Your fur baby's home away from home.
We specialise in dachshund daycare boarding. We have 2 dachshunds ourselves and know they are a very unique breed that love to be around their own breed.
We live in a one level house with a huge backyard. We live close to numerous dog parks so visit almost daily to socialise with other dogs (please let us know if your pup is anxious around other breeds). I am also a full time student and on maternity leave, so am home majority of the days during the week.
We can't wait to look after your little dashies!!

After consideration we have decided to update our review with this feedback. While well-intentioned, Jessie has underestimated the true commitment required to operate as a paid carer for other people’s dogs. We left our 1 year old puppy Archie with her for 9 nights over Christmas. He apparently did not settle and she indicated in sporadic updates that he was barking quite a bit, which we were worried and embarrassed about. On the day we were set to collect Archie, she posted a photo of a written barking complaint from her neighbours to her public social media, saying it was the second one in several days, and in future she would essentially be reconsidering the dogs she accepted in the future. We suspected it was Archie she was talking about, which she confirmed when asked. We were incredibly upset and embarrassed by this. On collecting Archie, it became clear that she had definitely left the dogs alone for extended periods of time, monitored by a pet camera, which we did not expect. It is also evident that Jessie has an acrimonious relationship with her retiree neighbours regarding barking dogs.
We felt it was important to highlight both the extended absences and the complaints from neighbours so that other people who may be as inexperienced as we were, may make a more informed choice.
Jessie and her husband did nice things like
buy Archie a Xmas present and take him to the beach (which actually I would have preferred they didn’t do, as to me it seems like a risky activity with a bunch of strange dogs) but fundamentally I don’t think they have a true sense of the responsibility they bear when caring for people’s dogs, and perhaps see it more as a side-hustle that requires limited effort
