Hi There!
I have over 20 years of experience dealing with animals in my care, as my home was always filled with them (we had 10 cats at one stage).
As a result, I have been lucky enough to:
- Foster puppies & kittens
- Care for Dogs, Cats, Birds, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Sheep, Horses & Mice
- Have a detailed understanding of challenging dogs and handling their temperament (Big Dogs, Bull Breeds & Small Dogs with a Napoleon Complex)
- Have experience in clicker training and animal behaviour
- Have Vet Nurse Experience
- Have a background in Science (Majoring in Zoology)
I’m currently studying Psychology part-time at Melbourne Uni (two sessions in person per week) and then I work for myself as a self-employed event manager, which requires me to be away for gigs on Saturday nights and some Friday nights (semi-regularly). These bookings are known well in advance with a calendar and if a long-term arrangement was made, I can share the calendar with you as well. I also work events/acting gigs freelance occasionally and this is also known well in advance. For the rest of the time, I’m usually at home or running errands.
My lifestyle is very active and I try to keep a base level of constant exercise throughout the week. I go for a 2 hour walk every morning from 7:30am but I also know how to wind down and meditation is a big part of my routine. I’m also 6”1, 95kg and I’ve played competitive sport most of my life. If you would like to get a sense of my personality, you can head to @balancedblokes on Instagram or rafferty.dall on TikTok too.
The home is a lovely 3 bedroom property in Caulfield North, living with two professional women in their late 20's who are very keen to have animals in the house. There is a decent backyard with high fencing (your pet would need to be a show jumping horse in order to get out) and also an open front yard. Both areas have interesting plants to investigate and explore (nothing poisonous). I'm also willing to purchase whatever little extras are needed to make your pet feel at home.
My reason for joining Mad Paws is that I really want to make the leap and get a big fur baby of my own but I also know that this is a huge commitment. So, I’m hoping that this can be a nice transition into eventually making a decision, by getting to experience the love from your beloved family members. I’m absolutely obsessed with big, dopey dogs (maybe they’re relatable?) and I hope that I can be the right fit for your friend.
Kind Regards
Raff...
