We are Ivan and Gudrun, a middle aged semi retired couple who work from home. Our beloved Baxter, the most gentle Staffordshire Bull Terrier, recently passed away, aged 15. We miss him dearly. We enjoy looking after others' dogs until we are perhaps ready once again to commit to acquire a new rescue dog of our own. We love most animals and are most partial to small to medium sized dogs, young or slightly aged. We prefer dogs that are neat and do not slobber. We enjoy exercising dogs in the reserve opposite or at the various parks nearby, especially as most dogs really enjoy the social, exercise and play aspects of the outing. Our Baxter was exercised for 2 hours every day, morning and night.
Our home is comfortable and the grounds are secure with fences and gates on all sides of the back and front yards.
We have looked after many dogs over the years and currently day care for a friend's 8 year old delightful and perfectly socialised Terrier cross once a fortnight. We enjoy the company and dogs' affection. We are competent in training dogs(we watched and apply Ceasar Milan's method of lots of exercise with positive reinforcement to encourage perfect behaviour) and have assisted many of our friends' pets in this regard. We are generally successful and delight in teaching dogs to be calm and to behave. To not pull on the leash and to willingly obey 'heel, sit, stay, wait and come' solely with positive encouragement 'good boy/girl'
We wish to do all stays in our own home; overnight stays of 3 or 4 days is acceptable....
