About Phillip
I've lived with Zen masters, and most of them have been cats. But all animals can teach us how to live in the present, and love, in their own way.

So I believe.

I'm a tidy Australian gentleman, 50s. Self-disciplined. Non-smoker.

I've worked some years in hospitality & customer service in Switzerland, and I hope to bring that extra touch of thoughtfulness and care to Madpaws. I've managed a large mountain lodge in Switzerland and a holiday hotel in Cyprus.

Before joining Madpaws, I've house sit independently in Australia. I am happy to provide five-star references. I've enjoyed looking after cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, a rabbit and budgies.

I lived with dogs and cats most of my life. I find dogs to be tremendously giving, but to win cats over really requires meeting them on their own terms. I love to do that, because to win the trust and affection of a cat is everything.

I've had 18 month's experience caring for boarding cats at Perth's largest cat shelter - The Cat Haven. So I'm very understanding of their different personalities, stresses and joys. The cat boarding experience taught me that we give our pets a great gift, leaving them at home, rather than putting them into kennels, no matter how professional and loving the staff there are.

I've also had experience looking after swimming pools and gardens, working with any special requirements while house sitting.

I work as a writer online, so I enjoy having a quiet place to myself. So if your pets get anxious too long alone, someone will be there to reassure them. And I'm on all the messaging apps, so we'll never be too far away should you experience pet separation anxiety, and can send you updates during your time away.

I look forward to hearing from you. You can text message me through Madpaws with any questions. And I'd be very happy to arrange a time to listen to your needs on the phone, or in person.

Thank you.

NB. For extra peace of mind I'm happy to provide my National Police Clearance certificate.

Phillip looked after our cat in Toowoomba. He was reliable and his communication is outstanding - he's responsive and has lovely manners. Best of all, our cat loved him. She's a shy thing but she went and lay next to Phillip as soon as he sat down. Cat's know! I think Phillip can genuinely claim the title 'Cat Whisperer'. I t goes without saying that the house was left exactly as it was when he arrived. We wouldn't hesitate to have him back and wish him well.

We headed overseas for nearly 2 months over the xmas break. We didn't want to leave our cat at the kennels (or our house unattended) for that period - and our neighbours (who often look after the cat and house when we are away over a weekend - were not available for the whole time. We put a request out on facebook and found Phillip. Having house sat ourselves while OS in the past, we have a good idea what to look for, and Phillip seemed to fit the bill and he was very organised, efficient and a good communicator as well. Phillip did an amazing job of looking after our cat (and house). He sent regular photo updates (we didn't even ask for them) that were great and reassuring - he is an excellent photographer.. It was obvious that our cat was in very good hands - probably got more attention than he gets from us! Phillip kept in contact about things (like a big storm that hit town - car battery died etc) and resolved them, and generally kept the house running while we were gone (collected the mail, put the bins out and back, tidied the yard (after the storm!), and handled the neighbours dropping in as well. His overall effort we would rate as 'fantastic' and we would not hesitate to have him house/pet sit again.

I had Phillip stay at my house to pet sit so I could attend a convention. Phillip is such a wonderful and trustworthy individual and is so amazing with the care of my cats and dog. I never had to worry that my pets were not be well taken care of and I was able to relax and enjoy the convention. He even cleaned out the litter boxes and walked my dog Moe and shared with me some amazing pictures he took of my pets. My pets really bonded with him. He has an absolutely talented with animals. You can trust Phillip to take care of your pets and I highly recommend him.

Phillip has looked after our two cats Neville, and Callie twice now. If Phillip were to be available at all times, we would never need approach anyone else. He is an outstanding sitter and we trust him completely. My primary concern with writing Phillip a recommendation is that if others realise how wonderful he is and the great care he put into the little lives of other's pets, he would never ever be available to us - which is a little tragic, but we get it.
