Hi there!
My name is Leah and I have been a lifelong animal lover and grew up with every household pet you could have.
On part of my life journey, I was lucky enough to be blessed with 14 years with my staffy x Rottweiler companion, from puppy to senior, including intensive training during these years.
I have also had the pleasure of taking in the most beautiful cat in the world in the final year of her life before an aggressive skin cancer took over.
Although my soulmates passed a long time ago, I love to welcome my home to all furry friends and am the proud resident dog/cat sitter for all my friends babies; Darcy (bichon Frise), Luca and Dougie (Tenterfield terriers), and wonky (special needs cat). And unofficially Freddie (cat) who belongs to someone on the street but we are always greeted with her inside the underneath of the house or on our deck or sunbaking in the front yard.
Our friends feel safe enough to stop past when they need a secure space for their dogs to run around in if they live in a unit or townhouse… and in Freddie’s case safe enough to unofficially move in for the last 2.5 years.
I am a support worker so I am not gone long for long periods of time. My son is at a local high school so is never past 6.5 hours away from home. We rarely go out and I am home weekends.
We have a large fenced yard - can be converted into two sections or large roundabout for zoomies, a dog park for both little and big dogs with agility training facilities, and soccer fields. We live close to the bike path for walks and an active teenager who loves fitness and I’m usually outside in the garden.
We also have a deck overlooking the large yard with a couch, ottoman and blankets for sunbaking… We even have a cat tower for afternoon sun.
We have neighbouring dogs in every direction, but they are all such good dogs and are used to constant influx of doggie activities at our house… and cats
We can accommodate 2 small dogs if they are a bonded pair and possibly 2 medium dogs upon discussion and temperament of the dogs.
We love to spend time with animals in play and engaging with them. They are welcome to sleep inside if they are not destructive.
Dogs and cats that like their independence are welcome, I am happy to respect and allow space when it’s needed.
Dogs that are used to owners being away for work would be most ideal but still happy to have a chat to see if we can help.
I am also a Reiki practitioner and animals respond well to this calming energy and helps animals to transition and often feel very settled quickly.
I would love to hear from you and see how we can provide a home away from home for your fur babies and give them lots of love and care when time apart is needed....
