About Mel

Hi. I'm Mel, an avid lover of all creatures great and small.
I am a kind, gentle, outgoing travel addict and when I'm not somewhere fabulously exotic, I love being a homebody in my quiet, calm and happy Footscray home that I share with my two rescue cats (Taj and Khiva) and budgie Zala.
My rescue greyhound, Patch recently died (she was 15 and lived a long, healthy and happy life) - that's us in my profile pic :) I'm missing the canine vibes in my life.
I have been surrounded by animals all my life, having grown up with numerous dogs, cats, birds and rabbits as much loved family members.
Previously I have been a foster carer for cats and kittens and I am confident in administering medications including injections (for all types of animals)
I am fortunate enough to work at home full time and am available for doggie day care, walks and stays in my home. I will treat your pet as I treat my own (that is, like gods and goddesses) with plenty of attention, affection and anything else they may need.
Having two cats of my own I sadly can't welcome others in my home here but very happy to do home visits and give lots of pats and attention to yours :)
My super cute cottage is one level, fenced at the front, side and back and safe for your fur babies if they do want / need to go outside.

A couple of notes about my rates:
- Pet sitting is 24 hours and includes a morning and evening walk
- Pet Day care hours 7am - 7pm
- House visits includes 30mins of playtime, feeding and litter tray emptied
- Dog walks are up to 1hour including travel time

Mel has looked after all of my pets in recent years, including my two Siamese cats (Rani and Rama, who have now sadly passed) and my two Greyhounds, Lacie (passed away suddenly a few years ago) and my current houndie, Pepper. Mel is truly an animal lover - I'd say "mad cat lady", but she loves animals of all shapes and sizes and does a great job when tasked with looking after them. Mel loves dogs of all kinds, but has a special affinity with and love for Greyhounds - and why wouldn't she - they are simply awesome doggos.
