My name is Candice and I love all animals, especially cats, kelpies and friendly cows (I love animals so much that I studied Animal Science at university and went onto work in the conservation sector).
I'm an experienced pet owner and have worked in and around the companion animal space (most recently as a strategic campaigner working on NSW pet law/policy, as a foster carer for the RSPCA, volunteer animal attendant at the animal shelter Save Our Strays and I also did a stint as a vet nurse in a rural vet).
I recently said good bye to my cat, Fat Boii, at 16 years of age who was part of my family (and trained me well in providing chin-rubs and back-scratches on demand). I understand firsthand the importance of having a reliable pet-sitter that provides you with updates, and makes you feel comfortable leaving your fur-baby with someone else.
I am an active person who loves walking. Of course, any walk is made infinitely better with a four-legged companion and I’d be happy to ensure your fur-family get all the exercise they need. Having grown up with kelpies on my family's farm, I am fully capable of long, active walks and never-ending games of fetch.
I understand, and am respectful of, different pet personalities. And I am a flexible, caring person who would be happy to meet and care for your pets.
>> CURRENT LOCATION
I am currently based in Gloucester NSW where I work part time for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service as a Project Officer (Koalas) and part time from home, providing communications and writing services to non-profit conservation and animal welfare organisations....
