I am a Veterinary Medicine student studying at JCU Townsville. I have previous experience working as a vet nurse in Victoria. My love for animals has come from growing up in a country town owning dogs, cats, birds, chickens and horses. I enjoy giving pets ample attention whether it's playing, walking, giving them treats or giving them warm baths, just to make them happy. My friendly and bubbly nature helps me bond with animals and I can ensure animals are safe and cared for. I enjoy spending time outdoors, however, I also enjoy relaxing with a sketch pad in the comfort of home ( preferably spent cuddled up to a furry friend).
I have volunteered in veterinary and farming industries in surrounding Melbourne suburbs where I have gained a range of animal handling skills, along with animal welfare, behaviour and health knowledge. I have also ventured to South Africa for Veterinary volunteer work with wildlife and domestic animals which was a great opportunity to help animals and communities in need of animal health advice. Throughout these experiences, I have learnt how to deal with stressful situations, be able to read animal behaviours and know how to assist an animal in need of medical attention. In addition to my family pets, I have worked with and cared for guinea pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, horses, chickens, cattle, sheep, goats and Australian and African wildlife.
Making an animal happy and healthy makes me feel accomplished and joyful, so with any chance I have, I aim to make my time spent with pets or wildlife beneficial and rewarding for them. I am more than happy to send updates including photos of your pet on our walks, overnight stays etc. I am available to do pet daycare/ overnight stays however only at your home as I have two large dogs at my house which can get too crowded. I am looking forward to helping you and your pets!...
