My main personal experience is with elderly and rescue pets, having had several (mostly cats) myself over the years, all with unique and different personalities and some with special health or care requirements to manage. Recently I have had several repeat dog sits (on another site) looking after Spoodles (1x diabetic requiring twice daily injections) and formed a quick, nurturing bond/connection.
I have worked from home the last few years so have built a lifestyle around this and my pets also. I’m fairly quiet around the home and have always prioritised my own animals, but keen to see new places and try new things too.
I recently had 2 of my elderly cat cross the rainbow bridge, who both had extra care needs for the last 2 years, including meds. I have a Pet Doula Certification, which was initiated by this experience also.
Have done many sits prior to this space, but they were mostly for neighbours, friends or connections (of connections) over the years and I started from a very young age looking after neighbours dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds whilst they were away, so have a well rounded scope of experience.
Personal Experience Recap:
I have had my two elderly (former rescue) cats in recent years, both with health issues and my much younger (former feral stray kitten) cat that I took in and “somewhat” rehabilitated from 2020 (with heart medication needs) and is now happily staying with my Dad in Melbourne at present, and will be for the foreseeable future, so understand what it’s like to have to leave your beloved pets with others whilst you venture out into the world for a period of time.
Happy to meet up with you, if the opportunity presents, to discuss availability etc.
Please Note: I require Wi-Fi as I work from home.
Thanks,
Clare...
