~ Availability ~
I am a full-time Master's Student studying to be a secondary school teacher and working at a major pet retailer as a puppy school trainer. My schedule varies from week to week right now, but please reach out to let me know what your animal care needs are, and we'll see what we can work out!

Quick Hello :) I'm Amelia - I grew up with dogs and birds and my Mom used to work at the zoo, so we always had various kinds of animals in the house (including African hissing cockroaches!).

I have had 2 cats and 2 dogs for the last 10 years and have been a Puppy Preschool trainer since 2017.

Animals have unique personalities and need extra TLC while their people are away or out of routine! My experience working as a puppy trainer at a major retailer gave me a high level of knowledge about animal care, behaviour and training, and general wellness. It cemented a lifelong love for animals.

~ Pricing ~
The cost listed is the cost per 1 visit to your house to see your pet for approximately an hour or so. If you need more than 1 visit per day, we can negotiate a different price for the daily rate depending on how many visits you will need as this will change my travel time but will also include playtime, snuggles and feeding depending on your pet's needs. Let me know and we can figure something out!

~ Dog Walking~
Your dog will always be walked one-on-one with me, getting extra attention, positive reinforcement, and lots of time for sniffs and adventuring in your neighbourhood. I use Ziwi Peak as my reward treat, which is important when dogs are getting to know me, and I'm encouraging good listening and recall. I will send lots of cute photos of your pup while they're out with me so you know their adventures.

~ Cat sitting ~
Cats each have unique personalities and require different care depending on their nature. I will always add extra enrichment to their environment to keep them stimulated while you're away, including treat-hide-and-seek and rearranging their toys and pieces to give them new jungle gyms to explore, among other kitty tricks I have up my sleeve.
Other cats just need company and someone to be around, so I'll often bring my book or crocheting with me and just let the cat know that while it's people are away, I'm still there for treats and snuggles as they need.

~ Dog Training ~
My specialty is young puppy training, 8 weeks up to 6 months and supporting new puppy parents with the skills they need to help instil a positive routine and positive reinforcement into their dogs for effective learning.
If you need further training for older dogs or are trying to work through some behavioural issues, I highly recommend finding a Behavioral Trainer like Positive K9 in Canterbury. They are well-equipped with different trainers to support your needs.

~ General ~
I'm comfortable with all ages and sizes of animals (Cats, dogs, birds, fish, lizards, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc.), so feel free to send me a message if you think I'm the right person to take care of your pets while you're away!
