Mum to 3 children, of which one is four legged. I have been around dogs since childhood and love the diverse personalities of animals.
As a family ( myself, husband Gerry and 2 children, aged 11 and 14) we regularly volunteer at the local animal refuge walking dogs or just spending time with the animals. I have also fostered puppies while living overseas and we have looked after friends dogs for up to a week.
I am easily persuaded by puppy dog eyes for extra cuddles, belly scratches or a few more minutes of playing fetch.
Our dog, 2 years old Staffi X, is well socialized and desexed. Unfortunately he is not good with cats. All his vaccinations are up to date.
Our yard is fully fenced with enough room for dogs to run around and have hours of fun playing fetch or soccer with the kids.
Both my husband and I jog regularly and this would be an option for more active dogs that is well trained on a lead.
We can board up to 2 dogs at any one time, as long as they are well socialized. During boarding they will be walked on a daily basis for at least 30 min or more depending on your dog's ability. This walks will take place in our neighbourhood, which is located out of town or we can take them to the off leash dog area or Emerald Falls. Boarding dogs will be able to sleep inside our house (living area or our bedrooms), preferable on their own beds. We also have a covered, fenced outside area for dogs preferring to sleep outside or for wet weather days.
For boarding and daycare, we ask that owners provide food, treats, bedding and a bowl for food. We always have a large bucket of water in our garden and for dogs who love water, we have a sprinkler that can provide hours of fun and games
For daycare, your dog will be around people all day (I homeschool my 2 kids) and will be taken for a walk of 15-30 min and get to play with our dog and my children/myself. We are available to do daycare on Tuesday, Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays, between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
Walking your dogs- we will take your dog for a 30 min walk, either in your own neighbourhood, that your dog is familiar with, go to the off-leash dog park or another area within reasonable driving distance. When I am walking dogs on my own, I can walk 2 dogs at a time. Their is an option for my family to join in when more that 2 dogs needs to be walked. LEAD AND HARNAS PROVIDED BY OWNER OF DOG.
If you need our services to do home visits we can work with you to find the best times to visit your dogs or cats acoording to their needs and our schedule. This will be a 45 min visit, which will includes feeding, watering and walking/playing with your furry friend and tending to other needs as specified by the owner.
Unfortunately we are NOT available to do house sitting.
