About Alicia
I am studying towards being a veterinarian at The University of Sydney. Certified in Pet First Aid (Australian Red Cross)

Instagram Gallery: @pets_of_lower_north_shore

I have worked with: dogs, cats, exotics (ferrets, hamster, rabbits, turtles), marine (seals, sea lions, penguins), & farm animals (cows, chicken, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, alpacas)

My experience:
-I volunteered at a rural dog shelter, “Society for Abandoned Animals”, in Hong Kong for more than 5 years. SAA has a forever home in my heart as I was trained to work with rescue dogs and cats of quite unimaginable backgrounds, helping them get comfortable with humans and work towards adoption.

-Gordon Vet Hospital & Cammeray Vet animal attendant volunteering — taking care of sick/recovering animals (dogs, bunnies, cats), administering medication, health monitoring, walking dogs, restraint of animal for procedures, surgical monitoring

-Taronga Zoo work experience: placement at the marine division, taking care of seals, sea lions, and penguins. A very unique type of animal husbandry which has proven I am willing to be very adapting in my animal care.

-farm placements doing general vet work (ear tagging, worming, meds, vaccines, etc.) and husbandry on farm animals, natives and reptiles.

-2 years work at a doggy daycare and grooming store in the city. My role as a dog handler/attendant involves: walking dogs, taking care of dogs in an open space, conducting behavioural assessments of new dogs, and customer services catering to two-legged and four-legged friends alike! I am used to supervising the craziness of up to 45 dogs interacting with each other and experienced in managing situations to keep all dogs safe and happy.

PLEASE READ:
-I can only accept small-medium sized dogs because my rescue dog is intimidated by larger breeds. Buddy has been more than happy to share his home, food, and toys to all the dogs that has stayed over (he loves a good tug of war with friends)! He is gentle with small animals, he used to live with a bunny in foster care and now lives with two ferrets.

*Small animal/exotics bookings: Your exotic friend will stay in a spacious, well ventilated and safe room, separated from my pets.

Alicia was great for Pepper! Pepper looked like she had an amazing time going for walks and playing with Buddy. Pepper probably had a better holiday than we did :P
