About Benjamin

Hi! My name is Ben and I am a 25 year old university graduate from England who recently moved to Australia. I have lots of experience in animal care and want to work with animals and specifically care for people’s dogs and beloved pets!

Having grown up in a dog loving family I have experience caring for many dogs of various different breeds and sizes. My dad was a dog handler for the Royal Air Force, so I also grew up around an innumerable amount of larger dogs that worked in the forces as sniffer dogs and search and attack. This enabled me to gain an above average experience in training dogs, as well as understanding that every dog is different. We also had a couple of dogs in the family who performed as show dogs, showing at prestigious shows such as Crufts!

I understand that every individual dog has their own care needs, and don’t approach pet sitting with a one-size fits all approach. I know that every dog is different based on their temperament, personality, and sometimes breed in general. So with this knowledge, I love to meet peoples dogs and getting to know what they need in order to care for them best, from the people who know them best as their loving owners.

I also have experience working as a volunteer in animal management at a wildlife rehabilitation centre, which entailed caring for many different species of animals including foxes, squirrels, birds, and much more.

I understand how much our dogs and pets mean to us, and that their well-being when being left in the care of someone else is of the utmost importance to us. Being a dog lover (and animal lover in general), I know that leaving your dogs care in the trust of someone else can be an anxiety inducing situation, so I am used to sending daily, and sometimes hourly updates with pictures and videos of other peoples pets to help soften the separation!

I have been a dog sitter for many dogs in the past, which has included overnight care, daily walking and home checks over the past three years. This has also included working with puppies, understanding how training is so crucial for younger pups within their early months.

Aside from all that, I am a huge animal lover in general and dogs are my favourite animal above all, which makes this the perfect job for me!...
