Hi! I'm Mel, I love furry or feathered friends, the beach, tiny houses, sustainability, minimalism, yoga and travel.

I love animals and I couldn't imagine a life without them. I grew up with cats and birds (both budgies and larger parrots) and have spent many years living with dogs that always seem to steal my heart.

My experienced as a house/pet sitter has seen me care for dogs, cats, fish (both aquarium & pond), rabbits and chickens. I'm not as familiar with looking after larger farm animals and won’t look after pet snakes or spiders I'm sorry.

I'm a single, mature (late 30's), female who doesn't have any kids or pets of my own. I don't smoke, don't do drugs and don't party. Occasionally though, I do like to have friends around for a chat, coffee/tea or dinner.

I have my own car and am more than happy to use it to take your dogs/pets for trips to the beach etc (if applicable).

I'm very clean, honest, reliable, responsible, organised, resourceful, quiet and always show the upmost care and respect to your pets, home and neighbours.

I have house/pet sat for numerous people to date through Madpaws, other platforms and through word of mouth. I’ve saved screenshots of references/reviews I’ve received outside of Mad Paws as photos in my profile for your ease of viewing.

My nightly house/pet-sitting rate includes the following:
• I’ll feed, love & care for your animals
• provide you with regular photo/video updates
• provide dogs (up to 2 at a time) with one 20-30 minute walk a day (if applicable)
• water plants
• collect mail
• put out your bins
• clean up after your pets
• keep your home secure & maintained
• organise trades/maintenance if required
• leave the areas your home that I use at least as clean as I find them (probably cleaner)

As quite a clean & respectful person, I will naturally leave your home clean and fresh for your return. I hope the same courtesy is provided for my arrival. If not, an cleaning fee will apply.

Additional animals, walks, or responsibilities (eg lawn mowing) can also be added for an extra fee.

My petsitting rates are designed to cover my rent whilst I’m not there, the MadPaws fees I get charged (20% + GST) plus a bit extra for the extra travel I’ll be doing to/from yours.

Please note that I’m not comfortable sharing my bed, or bedroom, with your pets. I'm also unable to offer petsitting services at my home as my landlord doesn't allow pets.
