Hi, I’m Jess!

An animal-loving creative writer working from home 👋 I write and illustrate books - mainly featuring animals!

I’m happy to do pet sitting all around Victoria (rural and coastal is fine), in addition to locally in Melbourne. If that’s what you need, I might even bring my partner along (also a wonderful pet carer) and make a trip of it! I work off my laptop so am very flexible and just love exploring spots in the state I haven’t had the opportunity to visit yet, and taking your sweet doggos on big walking adventures.

I’ve had dogs and birds of my own for 32 years (I’m 35 now).

My dearest sweetest of hearts (a Collie, 18y 2m) passed over to the rainbow herding road just 3 months ago and the grief has been mega. 🌈

Honestly, I’m too heartbroken to have my own again just yet, but I do miss 3x walkies a day and all the idiosyncrasies and of course the beautiful furry company. So I’m keen to start helping out looking after some other people’s best furiends for now.

So you know that I am a lover of all doggos, and I will take the bestest of care of yours while you are busy or away.

I’m also working on my laptop part-time so I’m well positioned to go for as many walkies as required during the day.

I went through puppy training and behavioural courses with both of my doggos and am comfortable reinforcing any rules and training you may be working on with your furry loved one.

I also have some experience with birds (buddies and parrots) 😍 and rabbits, and love their company too.

I’m allergic to cats, so unfortunately if you have one I’m sorry but I won’t be able to stay at yours or have them at mine. 😢
